A natureza evolui mais pela cooperação que pela competição
Está matematicamente provado que o princípio da Winner-Less Competition (WLC) é eficaz na natureza.
“Nature's advantage comes from the way neurons interact. In their winnerless competition, no neuron gains an advantage over any other, which keeps the system as a whole coordinated in the face of random signals, or noise […] Neurons work together in much the same way that a small number of letters can form many different words, […] The system is also robust, meaning it cannot be easily thrown off, because this structure is inherently self-correcting, […] The same winnerless competition principle works to balance animal populations that are competing for a territory or food.”
“Such coding uses ‘winner-less competitive’ (WLC) dynamics, in contrast to the well known winner-take-all competitive (WTA) networks.”
Relacionado com isto, hoje, no Porto, na FNAC do Gaia Shopping, às 15h30, haverá uma palestra proferida por um matemático, Fábio Chalub, que falará sobre a Teoria da Evolução. Uma iniciativa da Sociedade Portuguesa de Matemática (SPM), em conjunto com o Pavilhão do Conhecimento – Ciência Viva.
